Continuing education

Lifelong learning (Formation tout au long de la vie or FTLV) is one of the main missions of universities, and of the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in particular.

Who is Continuing Education for?

Continuing education at ISM-IAE is aimed at people who have interrupted their studies and wish to acquire or develop new skills, gain new qualifications or enhance their professional experience.
The continuing education offer is therefore aimed at :

               • employees in the private and public sectors
               • non-salaried workers (self-employed, professionals, shopkeepers, etc.);
               • jobseekers or individuals wishing to follow a training course of their choice;
               • employers (companies, associations, public organisations, etc.) wishing to develop their employees' skills.
               • Continuing education is part of a lifelong approach to professional or personal training.

Personalised support is offered to each applicant to validate the training project (consistency of training objectives with the professional project; suitability with the ISM-IAE training offer, etc.) and propose a personalised training plan.

Our expertise, our know-how and our ability to listen encompass both the guidance of the candidate and the assistance required to prepare the application file, the financing file and the implementation of the training project.

ISM-IAE mobilises all its skills and resources to offer continuing education applicants the best possible conditions for professionalisation and success.

What continuing education offers are available?

ISM-IAE's continuing education offer includes degree programmes dedicated to organisational management, innovative training courses based on academic research, and small group teaching methods that encourage the exchange of practices.

Degree courses

All ISM-IAE degree courses are accessible through continuing education: Bachelor's, Professional Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

As most of our courses are offered on a sandwich course basis, returning to school is compatible with maintaining a professional activity (Skills Development Plan, Reconversion or promotion through the Pro A sandwich course, Professionalization contract, etc.). In addition, all our courses are eligible for the CPF. The work-linked training timetable can be customised to take account of the professional or personal constraints of continuing education applicants.
The Validation des Acquis Professionnel (VAP) scheme enables you to access a diploma course without necessarily having the prerequisites in terms of diploma (for example, a candidate with a Bac+2 can access a Master's course via the VAP).

Vocational Accreditation Scheme (VAP)

All ISM-IAE degree courses are accessible via the Validation of Professional Experience (VAP).

This system allows applicants who do not have the necessary prerequisites to access a course to use their professional experience to enrol in a course at a higher level than their initial level of study. This involves exemption from a diploma and/or teaching units, in the context of continuing or resuming studies.
For example, a candidate with a 2-year higher education qualification and considerable professional experience may be authorised, via a VAP, to enrol on a Master's course.
The VAP file must accompany the application for a course.

Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE) scheme

All ISM-IAE degree courses are accessible via the Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE).

Anyone who has worked in a professional capacity can, under certain conditions, benefit from the Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE). Their professional and personal experience can be used to obtain a university degree. It is possible to combine the VAE system with a diploma course (‘hybrid’ VAE).

How to apply for a diploma through VAE

The VES scheme enables students to validate a university degree through recognition of their studies in France or abroad.

The VES scheme applies to all higher education studies undertaken by a candidate in a public or private institution or training organisation, in France or abroad.

Qualifying and tailor-made courses

These courses are currently aimed at public or private organisations wishing to enhance the skills of their employees in management areas (strategic management, change management, team management, human resources management, quality and customer relationship management, etc.). These training courses (leading to a diploma or qualification) are developed on the basis of the specific needs of each organisation: educational objectives, content, training schedule, etc. They can cover short or long programmes (from 20 to 420 hours) with adapted formats, integrating VAP and/or VAP schemes:
  1. existing degree (Licence, Licence professionnelle, Master)
  2. a specific diploma (in the form of a University Diploma, for example)
  3. certification or qualification (non-degree programme).

Practical information & Contacts

The Continuing Education scheme is open to anyone returning to study. The terms and conditions of the course depend on the situation of each candidate, and require the signing of a continuing education agreement with ISM-IAE. In terms of funding, the training agreement may be covered by, for example:

Testimonials

‘At the age of 47, it's an excellent way of sharing your life experience with younger people, but also of learning a multitude of things from them. It also helps them to develop their working methods and attitudes so that they can respond as effectively as possible to the needs of the work. Ongoing training sharpens the mind’.
