What is ISM-IAE?

The fundamental mission of the Institut Supérieur de Management  - IAE of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is to develop research, training, dissemination and promotion of knowledge and know-how in the various fields of management. It aims to promote ‘responsible and integrated management’.

To this end, it takes, within the framework of the university, the necessary initiatives and measures to organise and develop university and institutional cooperation, at European and international levels, in terms of research, training and cooperation with the socio-economic environment.

At the heart of ISM-IAE's activities is scientific research in management, carried out by the LAREQUOI Research center (EA 2452), set up in 1998 by Professors Annie Bartoli and Philippe Hermel. The centre of gravity of these activities is management sciences (section 06), enriched by a concrete and controlled opening onto other related disciplines such as information and communication sciences, psycho-sociology of organisations and education sciences. The research team currently comprises around 100 researchers, including 16 professors and senior lecturers and an average of 30 PhD students.

State-approved degree courses from bachelor's to doctorate level

ISM-IAE offers 9 degree programmes at Bachelor's and Master's level, accredited by the French Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research, as well as a doctoral programme. 1100 students (including more than 900 on sandwich courses and several hundred continuing education trainees). The vast majority of these are students on sandwich courses, in partnership with the Apprenticeship Training Centres (CFA) of the CCI Paris Ile-de-France, or on professionalisation contracts with Promeo.

ISM-IAE is also very open to the local, national and international environment, and has numerous partnerships with public and private organisations and companies.

ISM-IAE on the international stage

For many years now, international development has been a key aspect of the development of the LAREQUOI Research center and its associated training programmes. This international development is a major strategic focus for ISM-IAE and concerns various regions of the world (Europe, America, Australia). A special partnership has been set up with Georgetown University (Washington DC, USA), which includes intensive on-site international management seminars for students, as well as research programmes based on scientific work within American companies and organisations.  Other agreements also exist with establishments in Germany, Australia, Spain, Greece, Lebanon, Brazil and Bulgaria. ISM-IAE also holds international Unesco and Jean Monnet chairs. Hosting visiting professors from foreign universities (an average of 5 per year) is another strong point of the Institute's international activity.
